The Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) is a non-profit organization founded in 2002. Its main aim is the promotion of hydrogen technology development as an energy carrier, and its use in industrial and commercial applications.
AeH2 members are the most active Spanish companies, public and private institutions and researchers in hydrogen technology, with a common interest: opening markets and social and environmental benefits of introducing hydrogen and fuel cells in the energy systems.
AeH2 members have developed strong capabilities in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.
The AeH2 has shown itself as an important and visible actor in the hydrogen community in Spain and abroad and will play an important role in this emerging industry.
Some fields covered by the Association are:
- Centralized and distributed hydrogen production from fossil fuels.
- Hydrogen production using other energy sources (renewable and nuclear)
- Hydrogen storage, transport and distribution.
- Use of hydrogen in combustion processes
- Use of hydrogen in technological processes for electricity generation
- Use of hydrogen in fuel cells
- Regulations and safety
Collaborators
The Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon is a prívate, not-for-profit entity, created to promote the use of hydrogen as an Energy vector.
Promoted by the Government of Aragon, it was founded in 2003 with the support of the administration, industry and the main society actors form different sector of activity. Today has become a board made up of 67 members, of key importance fot the Aragonese econmy.
The Foundation works day a day for the development of new hydrogen technologies integrated with renewable energies and the promotion of Aragon´s involvement in economic activities relating to the use of hydrogen as an energy vector.

The Autonomous Region of Aragon boasts a high degree of economic development and social welfare. Its geographical location and excellent communications´ infrastructure with the rest of Spain as well as the South of France make Aragon a strategic hub and privileged location for production plants and distribution warehouses.
From 2003 onwards, the promotion of hydrogen technologies has been a fundamental strategic line for the Government of Aragon regarding energy and industrial policy, with a firm commitment towards Small and Medium Sized Companies and sectors such as the car-making, transport, chemistry or energy industries. The government played a leading role in the search for a partnership formula with a view to developing market-oriented knowledge by putting forward the idea of setting up the Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon.

The International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE) strives to advance the day when hydrogen energy will become the principal means by which the world will achieve its long-sought goal of Abundant Clean Energy for Mankind.
Toward this end, the Association stimulates the exchange of information in hydrogen energy field through its publications and sponsorship of international workshops, short courses and conferences.
In addition, the Association endeavors to inform the general public of the important role of hydrogen energy in the planning of an inexhaustible and clean energy system.
